May 03, 2008 For those of you jonesing for more KBG's, you can check out Ed's twitter page. I'll try to update the page at least several times a week and often more than once a day if I can. So check it out and let me know what you think. April 28, 2008 Today begins a bold new experiment for KBG, which if all goes well none of you will ever notice. You see, I start medical school in August and between now and then I want to make my buffer as big as possible so that I don't ever have to worry about falling behind on KBG. As such, my goal is todo five comics a week from now until August (although, I'll still only update twice a week). I've never sat down and tried to write, draw, and ink a single strip in one sitting, so I'm very curious how long takes (and more importantly, whether or not I'll be able to keep it up.) Wish me luck. April 24, 2008 First off, I want to remind people that April 30th is the deadline for ordering a copy of Lapses in Judgment with a free sketch. My thanks to everyone who ordered one already and I hope everybody liked their sketch (I had a lot of fun doing them). Last, I finally have the photos from ConBust. Here's me, Jennie Breeden, and Randy Munroe in the rubberband/marshmallow crossbow war. Please note the cowardly behavior of Randy as he hides behind his desk. Next, this is me and KEP. KEP is also a Kathy Peterson, and apparently gets accused of being behind the complete failure of a webcomic that is Kidnapped by Gnomes (as apparently KBG has a small following at Smith, which I find absolutely mind boggling). So for the record, I'm the one to blame for this nonsense and I've never had the courage to dye my hair a wacky color. Last, KEP requested I name this picture "Kidnapped by Kidnapped by Gnomes" as the photographer said to do something silly and I swept her off her feet without any warning what so ever. If you look closely, you can see that KEP is holding her skirt down in the photo. I accidentally caused her to flash the whole room when I picked her up, for which I'm very sorry (although apparently not that sorry since I'm probably embarrassing her more by mentioning it). April 14, 2008 This has nothing to do with the comic, but I thought I share a tale of sweet revenge with you. So awhile back a friend who I owed a huge favor called me and asked if I would watch his cat for about 6 months. Now at the time, I had a cat and didn't really want another one. Furthermore, it was generally agreed upon by all my friends that this friend's cat is about as obnoxious as a cat can possibly be. This was 2 years ago, and I still have the cat. Thankfully, my friend is finally about to take the cat back. As such, for the next several weeks I plan on encouraging every form of bad behavior in this cat. When he begs for food, he gets it. If we wants to sleep on the stove, that's no problem. If he wants to play at 4:00 am, I play with him. Petty revenge is the best revenge. April 01, 2008 I'm back from ConBust and I had an absolutely wonderful time. It was by far the best convention I've been too. I got to meet Jeenie Breeden of The Devil's Panties who's super nice as well as her friend DJ (who regularly appears in the comic). I have to admit, it was a little surreal to meet someone who you've always thought of as just a character from a cartoon. I also had a really nice talk with Jon Rosenberg of Goats who convinced me that I need to save up for a Cintiq. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy a pint glass off of him before I left. Lastly, during the lulls in the convention I kept myself entertained by having an all out war with Theo Black of The Black Arts and Randy Munroe of XKCD using rubber bands and these cool little marshmallow crossbows they were selling at the convention. For the record, Randy totally cheated by using physics to make his rubber bands shoot further and go straighter (that guy knows way too much about everything). My special thanks to Jennie and DJ who joined in the fight from time to time. Hopefully people will send me pictures of it all so I can post them up on the site! Also, my thanks to all the people who stopped by and had something nice to say about the comic or bought a book. This was my first convention where people had already heard of the comic, and it was neat to meet my fans. As with the rubber band war, hopefully I'll get some pictures over the next couple days and if so I'll post them online. P.S. if you do have pictures, please send them here, as my normal e-mail address is a bit wonky at the moment! March 24, 2008 Don't forget, I'll be at Smith College this weekend for ConBust! So stop by and see me! Also, just a reminder that all book orders from now until the end of April come with a free sketch!. |
